Three years ago, Elon Musk’s space agency, SpaceX, made history with its Crew Dragon space capsule that delivered cargo to the International Space Station. The craft was also designed to transport humans, though.
Now SpaceX is giving us a sneak peek inside the Crew Dragon. Who knows — it may not only be used for travel to the ISS, but to other planets as well.
Take a look inside the luxurious spacecraft.
Key Features:
It’s equipped with four windows so that its passengers can get a look back at Earth, the Moon, or the rest of the Solar System. The spacecraft also includes an emergency escape system that can carry astronauts to safety if something were to go wrong.
The displays inside the Crew Dragon will provide real-time information such as its position in space and the environment on board. Passengers will have a comfortable ride thanks to the spacecraft’s Environmental Control and Life Support System (ECLSS). During the trip, astronauts can set the inside temperatures between 65°F and 80° F.
Crew Dragon will be completely autonomous and monitored and controlled by on-board astronauts as well as SpaceX mission control in Hawthorne, CA.
