Arduino Portenta C33 SOM: Versatile IoT microcontroller with robust security and AI capabilities
Sponsored by Mouser Electronics
Arduino Portenta C33 System-on-Module (SOM) is a cost-effective and versatile MCU module based on the R7FA6M5BH2CBG microcontroller that uses a high-performance Arm® Cortex®-M33 core. The Portenta C33 device uses an NXP Semiconductors SE050C2 Secure Element for industrial-grade security at the hardware level, enabling over-the-air firmware updates with Arduino IoT Cloud or other third-party services. This SOM can quickly deploy AI-powered projects by leveraging ready-to-use software libraries, Arduino sketches, and widgets that display real-time data on Arduino IoT Cloud-based dashboards. The onboard Wi-Fi® and BLUETOOTH® Low Energy connectivity makes this module ideal for IoT gateways, remote control systems, fleet management, and process tracking.
The module’s 66.04mm x 25.40mm form factor is compatible with the Portenta H7 and MKR ranges and includes castellated pins for automatic assembly lines and more efficient connections to other components. Arduino Portenta C33 SOM delivers a plug-and-play IoT prototyping solution, supporting high-level languages like MicroPyton and integrating Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Low-Energy connectivity and various peripheral interfaces, including CAN, SAI, SPI, and I2C.
