IO-Link Actuator Board Simplifies Industrial Monitoring and Appliance Control
STMicroelectronics has launched the EVLIOL4LSV1, an IO-Link reference design tailored for industrial monitoring and smart home appliance alarms. This ready-to-use board combines ST’s L6364Q dual-channel IO-Link transceiver with the IPS4260L intelligent low-side power switch, creating a streamlined solution for factory automation and signaling systems like tower lights and material alarms. The design is preloaded with protocol stack and application software, making it easy to test the capabilities of the L6364Q and IPS4260L ICs for various applications.
The EVLIOL4LSV1 board can connect directly to smart indicator systems, enabling functions such as quantity awareness and urgent alerts. It features an STM32G071CB microcontroller, which manages system diagnostics and control via ST’s proprietary IO-Link demo stack. The board includes a 4-pin M12 connector for IO-Link master connections and a 5-pin SWD connector for programming, allowing easy integration and flexibility in various setups.
Key components like the L6364Q transceiver offer robust EMC immunity, supporting IO-Link communication speeds of up to 230.4 kbit/s with enhanced protection against electrical surges. Meanwhile, the IPS4260L low-side driver supports voltage ranges from 8V to 50V and provides programmable current outputs, ideal for driving loads in industrial settings. With overload and overtemperature protection, as well as diagnostic features, the board ensures high reliability and safety in demanding environments. Additionally, the SMBJ30CA TVS diode adds extra surge protection on the supply rail, enhancing the overall durability of the system.
Available for $23 through the eSTore and ST distributors, the EVLIOL4LSV1 provides engineers with a powerful tool for evaluating and implementing IO-Link communication and load-driving capabilities.
