EiceDRIVER™ Power Family for Cost-Effective Gate Driver Supplies
Infineon Technologies AG has announced the release of its new EiceDRIVER™ Power 2EP1xxR family, a series of full-bridge transformer drivers designed to power IGBT, SiC, and GaN gate driver supplies. These devices offer a compact and cost-effective solution for creating isolated gate driver supplies, making them ideal for industrial and consumer applications like solar systems, EV charging stations, energy storage, welding, uninterruptible power supplies, and drive systems.
The 2EP1xxR family stands out with its ability to generate asymmetrical output voltages, thanks to a unique duty-cycle adjustment capability. These drivers come in a space-saving TSSOP8 package and support a wide input voltage range of up to 20V. Enhanced protection features—such as integrated temperature monitoring, short-circuit protection, and undervoltage lockout (UVLO)—ensure reliable performance and safeguard against system faults.
Product Variants Tailored to Diverse Needs
The EiceDRIVER™ Power family includes four product variants, each optimized for specific use cases:
- 2EP100R and 2EP101R: Ideal for designs with low component counts, tailored for IGBT and SiC MOSFET gate driver power supplies.
- 2EP110R: Features fine-tuned duty-cycle adjustment for precise output voltage ratios suited to SiC and GaN power switches.
- 2EP130R: Offers unmatched flexibility with five-stage overcurrent protection, 41 selectable switching frequencies, synchronization with external PWM signals, and adjustable duty-cycle options for versatile transformer matching.
Evaluation and Availability
The entire 2EP1xxR family is now available for purchase. To aid in evaluation and design, Infineon is also offering dedicated evaluation boards, including the EVAL-2EP130R-VD, EVAL-2EP130R-PR, and EVAL-2EP130R-PR-SIC.
