Danisense Unveils Advanced TEDS Functionality to Enhance Lab Accuracy and Efficiency
Last week, at APEC 2025 in Atlanta, GA, Danisense introduced a new Transducer Electronic Datasheet (TEDS) functionality designed to simplify lab setups and elevate measurement accuracy for test engineers. This latest development reflects Danisense’s ongoing commitment to innovation in the test and measurement space.
A Smarter, Streamlined Setup
Danisense’s new TEDS functionality significantly reduces the complexity of setting up test systems by enabling a seamless “Plug & Play” experience. Available across the full range of Danisense current transducers, the new functionality automates much of the configuration process, allowing engineers to get up and running faster without compromising on precision.
Beyond IEEE 1451
While standard TEDS implementations following IEEE 1451 include basic data such as transducer type, model number, and serial ID, Danisense’s augmented TEDS goes much further. Engineers will now benefit from an expanded set of parameters that are critical for optimized performance, particularly in laboratory environments where measurement accuracy is paramount.
Enhanced Calibration and Performance
Among the key additions are offset data, AC and DC calibration data, and phase shift information. These extra data points allow engineers to implement compensation strategies and phase correction techniques, extending accuracy across a wider frequency range.
In addition, Danisense’s TEDS functionality includes power supply information and defined power limits to prevent setup errors. The system also tracks calibration dates and includes alarms, supporting more efficient and accurate maintenance planning.
Broad Availability
This advanced TEDS capability is available for all Danisense current transducers, supporting both current and voltage output types. By embedding intelligent calibration and setup information directly into the device, Danisense offers a practical upgrade to traditional workflows in labs around the world.
As the demands of test and measurement environments grow more complex, Danisense continues to provide solutions that simplify the engineer’s job without sacrificing accuracy.
