Edge data centres presentation at Capacity North America
Don MacNeil, the Chief Technical Officer, of EdgeConnex will participate on a panel at Capacity North America. The event, which takes place October 5th-6th, 2016 at the Hyatt Regency Toronto, brings together cloud providers, content distributors and providers, and wholesale carriers.
On Wednesday, October 5th, at 2:15 pm, Mr. MacNeil will join Eric Luebchow, Associate Equity Analyst at Wells Fargo Securities, Andy Audet, Head of Business Development, Americas at Akamai, and Jack Lodge, President of Global Capacity for the panel presentation, “Bringing You Closer to the Edge: How Data Centres are Getting Content to the Consumer.”
Today’s always-on, digital world has disrupted the very way business networks work. Demand for content is continuing to rise, and more and more industry players are moving the edge of the internet outward. This session will explore the various approaches service providers are taking to shorten the distance between customers and content to achieve reduced network congestion, lower cost and reduced latency.
“Given the rapid adoption of OTT services, the advent of HD video and the explosion of content-enabled devices, the only way to confront the limiting physics of the internet is to eliminate physical distance between content and its consumer,” comments Mr. MacNeil. “By creating an ecosystem within our Edge Data Centers that includes content, IP, cloud and rich fiber under a single roof in underserved peering markets, EdgeConneX resolves latency and bandwidth challenges by optimizing content’s ability to reach end-users. I am looking forward to sharing that perspective with my industry peers at Capacity North America.”
EdgeConneX specializes in providing purpose-built, power dense and edge of network Edge Data Centers and wireless solutions to enable the fastest delivery of content to end-users. EdgeConneX has created a new Edge of the Internet by designing and deploying facilities that are strategically positioned nearest to network provider aggregation points, ensuring the lowest latency data delivery, with an improved quality of service.
