Evaluation Kits Aid Processor Design
Mouser Electronics is now stocking the ADZS-SC584 and ADZS-SC589 Evaluation Systems from Analog Devices. The ADZS-SC58x evaluation systems help designers develop and test the ADSP-SC584 and ADSP-SC589 SHARC processors. Based on ADI’s SHARC+ cores and DSP accelerators, the ADSP-SC58x processor family features an ARM Cortex-A5 processor as well as FPU and Neon DSP extensions to handle additional real-time processing tasks and manage peripherals used to interface to time-critical data in audio, industrial sensing applications, and industrial closed-loop control, that require high floating-point performance. The ADZS-SC584 evaluation system features the ADZS-SC584 EZ-Board and ADZS-SC584
EZ-KIT Lite, and the ADZS-SC589 evaluation system features the ADZS-SC589 EZ-Board and ADZS-SC589 EZ-KIT Lite.
The ADZS-SC58x evaluation systems, available from Mouser Electronics, share many capabilities but differ in several ways. For example, the SC-589 processor features two 16-bit L3 ports with 2Gbit of DDR3 memory each (4Gbit total), whereas the SC-584 processor includes one 16-bit L3 port with 2Gbit of DDR2 memory.
The ADZS-SC58x EZ-KIT Lite package includes two 180-day licenses for CrossCore Embedded Studio (CCES) and the ICE-1000 emulator. Working in conjunction with CCES, the emulator offers state-of-the-art support for all JTAG-compliant Analog Devices processors using CoreSight from ARM. The CCES development environment aids designers with advanced application code development and debug functions.
Designers who already have an ICE-1000 or ICE-2000 emulator may opt for the ADZS-SC584 EZ-Board. The ADZS-SC58x EZ-Board includes the required hardware to start evaluation of the ADSP-SC58x SHARC processors but does not include the emulator. The ADZS-SC58x EZ-Board package includes the standalone evaluation board, CE-approved power supply, and an USB cable.
