Expert manufacturer training session at NMEA
Industry specialists from Actisense are attending the National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) Conference and Expo in the USA. At the event, held at the PGA resort in Florida, Actisense will be sharing insights, showcasing their latest products, contributing to expert committees, and hosting a special manufacturer training session.
Run by company CEO Phil Whitehurst, a 90-minute Actisense training session will give marine dealers and distributors an opportunity to hear expert advice and learn about best practice in the industry. Providing useful Actisense product insights, the session takes place on 27th September at 3pm.
Andy Campbell, Actisense Chief Engineer, will also be contributing alongside fellow industry leaders to a number of committees collaborating at the conference to inform and shape the future of marine electronics. This will include modifying and proposing additions to the NMEA 0183 and NMEA 2000 standards. Campbell will also be helping to improve and test the soon to be published OneNet standard.
Whitehurst commented: “We’ve been attending the NMEA conference for a number of years now and have found the event incredibly useful. It’s helped us to spread awareness from the Actisense brand amongst key decision makers from major marine electronics companies around the globe. For the fourth year, we are delighted to be hosting a 90-minute manufacturing training session, giving other experts in-depth insights into our products.’’
Campbell added: “Again I am honored to be in the rare position of helping to mold all three generations of the NMEA standards from NMEA 0183, through NMEA 2000 to NMEA OneNet. The standards committee meetings, held before and during the conference, are the best occasion for experts from around the world to gather and improve each of the standards for the benefit of the everyone, from the casual boater the largest manufacturer and everyone in-between.”
Taking place over four days from the 25th to the 28th September 2018, the NMEA Conference and Expo is a once-a-year opportunity to meet with representatives from the North American marine electronics industry and beyond.
