Don’t you just love the weather forecast? I mean how often is it really accurate?
Well, what if I told you that by using your iPhone 6 you could actually get more on-point forecasts?
The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus come equipped with a handy-dandy barometer. An app called DarkSky (available in the iTunes store for $3.99) is harnessing the power of that function as well as using crowdsourcing methods to help give iPhone users a hyper-accurate weather forecast.
The app allows users to come together using their barometers as well as their physical surrounding weather conditions to notify other users what the weather forecast is or going to be based on their locations.
There have previously been crowdsourced pressure data apps released, but never any with the intention of improving weather forecasts – so this is a cool first.
The app includes advanced notification features, crowd-sourced weather reporting, and faster loading as well as the ability to limit how often the user needs to open it up. It comes with the ability to schedule daily summaries automatically delivered to your phone and create custom weather alerts so you can stay on top of the weather without having to constantly check the app.
