Data security specialist eSpida has released a whitepaper addressing the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to help organizations comply with its requirements.
The GDPR preparation whitepaper, available to download for free from eSpida’s website, outlines how the changes will affect multinational businesses, as well as a specific focus on the impact on HR, IT and marketing departments.
Following four years of deliberation, the European Union (EU) parliament finally approved the GDPR last year and will be enforced as of May 25, 2018. The regulation is set to raise the standards for the processing of personal data to individuals in the EU and failure to comply with the regulation will result in costly penalties of either €20m or four per cent of annual turnover.
eSpida’s whitepaper explains to businesses how best to prepare for the regulation. In particular, the whitepaper examines how the existing skills in HR departments can be utilised to deliver the new practices and procedures across a company, as well as the ways in which marketing and IT departments should work together to avoid discrepancies.
