Mouser’s New eBook Looks at the Design Challenges of Motor Control
September 19, 2024
Mouser Electronics, Inc., the authorized global distributor with the newest electronic components and industrial automation products, today announces a new eBook offering a deep dive into motor control. Electric motors play vital roles in an extraordinarily wide range of products, from cars to refrigerators and yard tools to elevators and air conditioning. With the push to achieve a more sustainable future, the challenge is to maximize efficiency while striking a balance with costs.
In Mastering Motor Control Design, Mouser offers electrical design engineers of all levels of experience practical information on system parameters and product selection to obtain optimal system performance. Topics include selecting the correct type of motor for your application, driver and microcontroller options, motor power components, motor isolation and current sensing, and more.
The eBook also includes convenient links to select motor control products, such as the HP8K/HT8K dual channel enhancement mode MOSFETs by ROHM Semiconductor. These devices are ideal for single and three-phase brushless DC (BLDC) motors and feature a backside heat-dissipating package.
The NCD83591 from onsemi is an easy-to-use, 60V multi−purpose three-phase gate driver with a high gain-bandwidth current sense amplifier, making it ideal for trapezoidal motor control applications. This device is offered in a small QFN28 package and with a high level of integration, optimizing the overall BOM cost.
The MPQ6541-AEC1 and MPQ6541A-AEC1 by Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) are three-phase BLDC motor drivers with three integrated half-bridges. The MPQ6541A-AEC1 integrates separate high-side (HS) and low-side (LS) inputs. The MPQ6541-AEC1 integrates enable (ENBL) and pulse-width modulation (PWM) inputs for each half-bridge. Both devices feature automatic synchronous rectification, thermal shutdown protection, Over-Current Protection (OCP), and Under-Voltage Lockout (UVLO).
The PAC52710 and PAC52711 power application controllers from Qorvo are highly optimized system-on-chips (SoC) for controlling and powering next-generation smart energy appliances, devices, and equipment. These controllers integrate 50MHz Arm® Cortex®-M0 32-bit microcontroller core along with a multi-mode power manager, a configurable analog front end, and application-specific power drivers to form a compact motor control system.
