Networking Server features Dual Intel Xeon Processors

WIN Enterprises, a designer and manufacturer of embedded controllers and network platforms for OEM solutions providers announces the PL-8120A high-performance networking server that features dual Intel Haswell/Broadwell-EP.

This represents the first in a family of related 2U rackmount servers from WIN Enterprises designed for maximum performance, scalability and functionality.

These servers are network communications appliances that are optimized for high speed, high density I/O, and which feature best-in-class energy efficiency. All the units support the Intel E5-2600 processor which can have up to 22 processing cores per socket. Each processing core has 2KB of L1 cache and 256KB of L2 cache. Evaluation units for the PL-8120A unit will be available at end of April 2017, others will announce later.

The PL-8120A is 2U rackmount high-performance networking system suited to a broad variety of challenging networking applications. The device uses the Intel micro-architecture of the Haswell/Broadwell-EP platform. The processor is within the Intel Xeon E5-2600 V3/V4 family and utilizes the Intel® C612 series chipset (codenamed Wellsburg).This processing platform provides high performance with up to 22 processing cores per CPU. The processor supports 55MB cache and total with 40 PCIe lanes.

The PL-8120A represents advancement in computing performance, system responsiveness with its dual Intel® E5-2600 V3/V4 series processors. The PL-8120A server supports sixteen DDR4 ECC Register DIMM (up to 2400 MHz ) and maximum memory capacity of up to 512 GB. With 80 PCIe lanes, the PL-8120A supports up to 8 NIC modules and features multiple Ethernet module bays for flexible port configuration, which can include 1/10/40/Gigabit fiber, Gigabit copper with optional BYPASS function. The maximum capable Ethernet ports are up to 64 GbE ports.

The strong IO elements of PL-8120A include two management Ethernet ports (one for management, another for option IPMI function), a console port, two USB ports, a Graph LCD module with keypad (5 key), LEDs for power/ HDD/ 2x GPO. In addition, the PL-8120A also supports two front swappable 2.5” SATA HDDs/SSDs and onboard Compact Flash /m-SATA /M.2 2280 slot for basic network storage application.
