New series of Automotive Grade radial aluminum capacitors
Vishay introduced a new series of Automotive Grade radial aluminum capacitors that features high-temperature operation up to +150 °C and a useful life to 2,000 h at +150 °C to provide high stability and reliability for automotive and industrial applications.
The Vishay BCcomponents 160 RLA series is available in 10 case sizes from 10 mm by 12 mm to 18 mm by 35 mm. For enhanced reliability, the AEC-Q200-qualified capacitors offer very low impedance down to 23 mΩ at 100 kHz, a high rated ripple current to 2,000 mA at +150 °C, and a capacitance range from 33 µF to 3300 µF over a voltage range of 16 V to 50 V.
As polarized aluminum electrolytic capacitors with non-solid electrolytes, self-healing dielectrics, and radial leads, the 160 RLA series devices are ideally specified for smoothing, filtering, and buffering in SMPS and DC/DC power supplies. The RoHS-compliant capacitors feature a cylindrical aluminum case with pressure relief — insulated with a blue PET sleeve — and are charge- and discharge-proof, so there is no peak current limitation.
Samples and production quantities of the 160 RLA series are available now, with lead times of six to eight weeks for larger orders. provider, NCH Europe, explains.
