Nordson support of SMTA recognized with award
The SMTA Corporate Partnership award has been awarded to Nordson Corporation in recognition of its ongoing support of the Surface Mount Technology Association (SMTA). Several businesses within Nordson’s Advanced Technology-Electronics Systems group are active Corporate members, including Nordson ASYMTEK, Nordson DAGE, and Nordson YESTECH. Nordson ASYMTEK’s corporate membership dates back to 1989, before its acquisition by Nordson Corporation.
“Each year our Awards Committee, chapters, and general membership honors a small group of individuals who have served the Association tirelessly over the past years,” said Tanya Martin, Executive Administrator of the SMTA. “With 700 corporate members to select from, this is often a difficult choice. As a corporate SMTA member, Nordson has shown support for the association in more ways than I am able to list.”
Nordson was recognized for its willingness to share technical knowledge with others in the electronics manufacturing industry as evidenced by the many papers that have been presented at numerous SMTA conferences. Nordson has supported local chapters and their technical programs throughout the world, exhibited annually at SMTA International and regional chapter Expos since 2003, has participated in Ambassador and Exhibitor Committees, provided financial donations to its special events and featured areas, supported its international efforts, and Hal Hendrickson, Sales Manager-global accounts for Nordson DAGE, holds a seat on the SMTA Board of Directors.
“We have been honored to be an integral part of the SMTA and support this vital industry,” stated Joe Stockunas, Vice President, Advanced Technology, Nordson Corporation. “A lot of our success comes from the values that Nordson follows: integrity, respect for people, customer passion, excellence, and energy. And these values align nicely with the goals of the SMTA, including developing solutions, exploring new technologies, and sharing our experiences with our peers. Over the years, Nordson’s Advanced Technology Group Companies have been on the forefront of technology and innovation, and we plan to continue to lead the way with the SMTA to move the industry forward.”
Mr. Stockunas accepted the award at the SMTA’s annual Recognition Dinner and was honored at the Keynote Breakfast held during the SMTA International conference in Rosemont, Illinois on September 26 and 27th, 2016.
The Surface Mount Technology Association (SMTA) is an international network of professionals who build skills, share practical experience, and develop solutions in electronic assembly technologies, including microsystems, emerging technologies, and related business operations.
