Portfolio broadened with pulsed fiber laser systems
AMS Technologies, Europe’s leading solution provider and distributor for optical, power and thermal management technologies, has added Swiss supplier Onefive’s ultrashort-pulse fibre lasers to its portfolio. Based on the agreement with Onefive, AMS Technologies now offers turnkey ultrafast complete laser systems including extensive support to their European customers.
The broad portfolio of Onefive’s pulsed fibre lasers includes devices with pulse widths in the nanosecond, picosecond and femtosecond ranges and wavelengths from UV to infrared. Repetition rates range from pulse-on-demand up to 1.3GHz and pulse energy from a few nanojoule up to more than 400 microjoule.
Due to their particularly compact, reliable and sealed construction combined with air-cooled, maintenance-free and reliable 24/7 operation, the lasers are suitable for ‘plug and play’ applications in OEM solutions as well as research and science. Shock and vibration tested, the systems provide their supreme spectral and timing features over a temperature range of +10 to +40°C.
“With their focus on optical technologies and the European profile, we see AMS Technologies as the perfect sales partner for Onefive,” Alexander Lang, Head of Sales and Marketing at Onefive, commented the sales agreement. “Out of their facilities in Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Great Britain, Poland and the Nordic Countries, AMS Technologies is providing not only sales but expert consulting and services for our laser solutions.”
Based on the Onefive agreement, AMS can now meet its large industrial and scientific customer base’s high requirements also with complete, turnkey fiber laser systems for applications like micro material processing, laser surgery, medical treatments, THz generation, frequency comb generation, spectroscopy, metrology and remote sensing.
With its broad portfolio of products and services ranging from components all the way to full systems, AMS is positioning itself as a ‘one stop shop’ for optical technologies.
“Far beyond mere product delivery we are supporting our clients during the entire project or life cycle,” Jan Meise, CEO of AMS Technologies, explained the company’s strategy, “from consulting and demonstrating to system concept, project planning, installation, parameterisation and start of operation all the way to service and repair.”
Clients like Dr. Ioan-Mihai Miron at the nuclear research center CEA in Grenoble, France, are confirming that this concept is working. During his search for a picosecond laser for a research application related to time resolved magnetization dynamics, the scientist successfully turned to AMS Technologies: “Onefive’s systems are an ideal fit to my requirements, and the consulting and support provided by AMS Technologies helped me to take the final product decision. At CEA we have already recognized AMS as a reliable, competent partner from prior cooperation on various projects during recent years.”
At the LASER World of PHOTONICS trade fair from 26-29 June 2017, AMS Technologies will be demonstrating a Onefive laser system in a pulse shaping application live at their booth B2/203.
