Chainalysis announced its acquisition of Excygent, LLC, which will allow the company to expand offerings to government agencies and grow its Investigations and Special Programs team to support end-to-end investigations. The two companies worked together before the purchase on such efforts as:
- Disrupting terrorism financing campaigns
- Seizing more than $1 billion in cryptocurrency connected to darknet market Silk Road
- Shutting down the largest child abuse site
- The Twitter hack compromising approximately 130 Twitter accounts of politicians, business leaders and celebrities
