This mini 3Dsimo is a 4-in-1 tool that 3D prints, solders, burns, and cuts
It appears to be just a funky pen, but 3Dsimo can do way more than just write.
The 3Dsimo may be a hobbyists new best friend, allowing tech lovers to 3D-print jewellery, figures, decorations.
Just like with traditional 3D printer technology molten plastic is extruded from the die and cools down rapidly.
With the 3Dsimo pen it’s possible to draw those solid structures in mid-air with no material limitations due to adjustable temperature and speed.
In addition to being a 3D printing pen, it also has burning capabilities so you can design any of your own items or use the tool to treat your 3D-printed models.
3Dismo also comes equipped with a soldering tip which heats up to 914°F in less than 10 seconds while still being safe to handle, allowing you to repair or create your own electrical equipment.
The last extension included with the 3Dsimo pen is the cutter which allows you to shape anything from polystyrene, plexiglas, balsa wood, or foam.
As an added bonus, 3Dsimo connects via Bluetooth to a mobile app so you can control the temperature and speed of your tool to work with different and sometimes totally new materials.
The 3DSimo app allows you to adjust the temperature, speed, and different material profiles, as well as provides instructional videos, templates to print, and regular software updates.
3Dsimo has far exceeded its initial funding goals on Kickstarter and if you head to the website you can get one now for $99 (includes all four attachments for each type of crafting). Expected delivery is March 2016.
