Vicor Releases Statement on Use of Western Technology in Russia’s War on Ukraine

In Europe and elsewhere, Vicor sales are transacted through our network of global distributors. Vicor complies with applicable US export laws and regulations regarding the sale of our products, and we hold our authorized distributors to these same standards.
At the outbreak of the invasion of Ukraine, Vicor chose to immediately cease shipments to distributors supporting then existing business in Russia. To minimize the exposure of our supply chain, Vicor terminated local resellers in Eastern Europe with sales channels in Russia and Belarus. When the US, the United Kingdom, and the EU issued sanctions against Russia and Belarus, Vicor complied with such sanctions.
Since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine various news outlets have reported that Russia has been able to obtain components manufactured by major Western technology companies such as Vicor. As these news outlets have reported, the global supply chain is a complex network that can be difficult to police, with bad actors actively working to circumvent sanctions and, in some cases, counterfeiting products.
In instances where we discover that our parts are suspected of being used in unauthorized applications and/or by unauthorized parties, it has been our practice to cooperate with Federal agencies in the United States, including the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) and the Department of Commerce.
We also work closely with our distributors to help identify potential channels seeking to subvert US and other applicable export laws. We will continue these efforts and commit to remaining vigilant in preventing the unlawful sale or use of Vicor products.
