An avid gamer and hacker that goes by the alias PangaeaPangaea has just beat the entire Super Mario World video game in 23 minutes. Not impressed? Well, he did it blindfolded.
You can watch the entire YouTube video below. PangaeaPangaea plays on an emulator with a keyboard using the arrow keys for movement (ASDW for running and jumping), so you might hear clicking sounds if you watch the video. The emulator has a 4-frame input delay so it may actually look like he’s pressing buttons, but he’s not.
PangaeaPangaea just started learning the blindfolded strategies on June 16 and began full runs on June 20. Within a week he had finished a full run of the game, completely blindfolded.
PangaeaPangaea wrote on YouTube:
This run features 3 deaths (but no game overs, thankfully), getting lost briefly in Starworld, baby Yoshi eating the goal tape, and entertaining spectators to keep the hype up for when I was too concentrated on the run. Also, there is an input display at the bottom left side of the video, so you can see exactly what buttons I’m pressing.
PangaeaPangaea plans to play the entire Super Mario World on an actual Nintendo gaming console next.
Some of us couldn’t beat Super Mario World if we had 4 sets of eyes and this guy does it with none. Check it out below.
