Wearables take on new meaning with this connected face mask
France-based beauty company, Wired Beauty, has unveiled its newest product, a high-tech face mask that lets users get to know their skin better. The company designed MAPO to monitor your skin’s moisture levels and help those interested optimize beauty routines.
MAPO is comprised of different layers equipped with flexible electronics that are integrated into silicon to gather data.
The device then transmits information regarding your skin to your smartphone via Bluetooth low energy.
According to Wired Beauty, MAPO lets you accurately measure the characteristics of your skin, reinforces the action of your skincare by its Sense & Treat technology, and its accompanying app offers a community of individuals who can assist you in perfecting your beauty routine.
The company has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for production. So far it has raised about 10% of it’s $43,000 funding goal, with 39 days remaining.
Right now, those interested can access a MAPO for $99 for six-month use.
