Wireless robotic finger connects all of your buttons, then pushes them for you

“Why can’t I push my own buttons,” you may be wondering.

You could, or you could get the Microbot Push to do it for you. Microbot Push is a wireless robotic finger that can push ordinary buttons like a human finger. Microbot lets you connect all of your buttons to the Internet for easy button-pushing access.

How it works

According to Naran, the company behind the device, a user simply places a Microbot Push wherever a button needs to be pushed and at that moment, it can be controlled remotely using a smartphone or computer. Microbots can also work automatically, based on a “if this happens then push that” logic.

With Microbot, devices can be hooked up to the Internet in just three minutes. First the user installs the Microbot with foam tape near the button, then heights must be adjusted so the finger can actually reach the button, and then it’s all set to be connected to the Internet.

Prota, the central server that gathers all the user’s requirements, will recognize each of the applied Push buttons via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). Users will need to define automation requirements using the accompanying Stories app, ­ an automation engine that is pre-installed in Prota OS by default. With the app, users can create smart home experiences as if they were writing a script where sensors and devices are characters weaved into a set of actions.

Naran is launching a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo next week to raise production costs, so users can pre-order there. The product will officially arrive on the market March 2016.
